Entry No. 76 - 90
76. Quebec Carnival
This float represents the city of Quebec and its famous winter carnival.
77. Cranbrook Girls' Bugle Band
This band has performed in the Stampede Parade for 48 consecutive years. It was formed in
1941 and has been the honour guard for the Royal Family and has performed with the RCMP
Musical Ride.
78. Miniature Horse Chuchwagon Racing
These chucks are half the size of the real chucks (the horses measure 34 inches or less)
and they'll race in the Saddledome during Stampede.
79. Shaw GMC Pontiac Buick
Joe Carbury, the well-known voice of the ckuckwagons, is riding in this antique doctor's buggy.
80. Chuckwagons
This convoy of chucks includes Handle with Care Moving Systems Inc., Calbridge Fine Homes,
Shaw GMC - Jason Glass and Bedroom Outfitters.
81. MLA's
Members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta are riding in parade.
82. Alberta Massed Pipes & Drums
This band is an amalgamation of many pipe bands formed specifically for the 2001 Stampede.
It plays a variety of Scottish marches and will perform throughout Alberta and overseas.
83. Calgary Regional Appaloosa Club
Members of this club promote the Appaleesa breed throughout Canada and they host a number
of trail riders and horse shows each year.
84. Blackfoot Natives
Also known as the Siksika, or the Prairie People, this band is located east of Calgary.
85. Vancouver International Airport
Here from Vancouver, this 32-foot long, 9-foot high airliner moves up and down and
simulates a real takeoff and landing.
86. North Vancouver Youth Band
This 30-member band is playing military marches but also has a larger repertoire of
concert music. Tha band plays thoughout the year and has travelled extensively in Canada
and Europe. It's the official band of the City of North Vancouver.
87. Easter Seals Camp Horizon
This horsedrawn float promotes the message "Receration for All" and was built by volunteers
from the Bragg Creek area.
88. Diamond Z Ranch
The Diamond Z Ranch English Shire Hitch is driven by Christopher Hone of Cedar City, Utah.
The Shire was the "War Horse" of England. Presently there're 3500 resistred Shires in
the world.
89. Native Elders
Native elders are important members of their bands and hold great respect
within their communities.
90. Calgary Korean Association
This entry comes to us from Taejon, Korea, sister city of Calgary, with the theme
"Morning at Sun-Rise." Members of the Korean community are performing traditional
Korean folk music and a martial arts demonstration.
